PARKING:  I received a message from Barbara Uhlemann that the church is having a Trivia Night this coming Saturday, Nov/17, so parking will be limited.  The WU garage on Washington should be available and parking is available across Delmar.  Thanks Barbara for the heads-up.

SPECIAL NOTE: We all wish a Heartfelt BON VOYAGE to Gerry and Herve Deschamps who will be in France over the next few months planning for their retirement.  And we all look forward to having them back dancing with us again after their trip.

Last Saturday, November 10th, it was another superb evening of dancing with Bill as the evening's programmer.  THANKS BILL for another WONDERFUL EVEING of DANCING at Saturday Night Folk Dance!

We all give a GREAT BIG THANK YOU to Cathy Swanson for her hard work and effort to promote and advertise IFDA by setting up evening classes to teach folk dances at the Middendorf-Kredell Branch of the St. Charles City-County Library starting on February 7, 2019. 

For this upcoming Saturday, November 17th, Nancy Couture will be coming on board as the evening's Programmer and John (with support from Sarah) will teach an Albanian dance "Koritsa."   We have another GREAT EVENING of DANCING COMING UP with NANCY and JOHN (with SARAH)l  - DON'T MISS IT!

November 18, Sunday, Music From The Hills, hosted by John Uhlemann, 4 - 6 p.m., KDHX - 88.1 FM.  John will be playing music from Northern Romania.

November 25, Sunday, Music From The Hills, hosted by John Uhlemann, 4 - 6 p.m., KDHX - 88.1 FM.  John will be playing music from America and a few similar places.


(NEW) December 8, Saturday, the IFDA Performance Troupe will be performing at the Kirkwood Community Center, 111 Geyer Road from 3 - 4 p.m. for their Swedish celebration of Sankta Lucia.  There will be an hour long show about Sankta Lucia with traditional songs, dances and processional.  Admission is $8 at the door. Included is a boutique, baked goods and coffee for sale.  

December 8, Saturday, IFDA Annual Meeting and election of Board Members.

December 14, Friday, Scandinavian Holiday Party, at the Uhlemanns' house, dancing starting at 5 p.m., potluck at 6:30, dancing after. Bring your favorite holiday dish and desserts. December 15, Saturday, IFDA Holiday Party and Potluck Dinner.  Starting at 5:30 p.m. there will be a BEAUTIFUL CANDLELIGHT POTLUCK DINNER setup by our most lovely and gracious hostess Nancy Couture.  Bring your favorite holiday dishes, desserts and drinks.  Dine and chat with good friends and get ready for some great dancing after dinner.  To set the tone and color of the evening, wear your favorite holiday costume/outfit (national or international - only if you want to) and dance the evening away with fun and great holiday spirit.

December 29, Saturday, IFDA New Year's Party!  Lets all get together to CELEBRATE another GREAT YEAR of dancing and teaching and to bring in another GREAT YEAR of dancing and teaching.  Bring your favorite New Year's Snacks, Munchies or Drinks and, if you want, wear something New Year's Evesey.

December 31, Monday, New Year's Eve Party starting at 8 p.m. at the Couture's house.  Everyone is welcome.  Bring appetizer foods, games, puzzles and your dancing shoes.  For additional information contact Nancy or Rex Couture (314) 786-5098, E-Mail at couture3@primary.net.

(NEW) February 7, 2019, Thursday, 7 - 8:30 p.m., Folk Dancing For Fun at the Middendorf-Kredell Branch of the St. Charles City-County Library, 2750 Highway K, O'Fallon, Mo. 63368.  Cathy Swanson from IFDA will host and teach folk dancing.  No experience or partner necessary.  There is no admission cost, but please register online in the Classes & Events calendar at (youranswerplace.org) or call the Library at (636) 978-7997.  For additional information or if you would like to teach one or more dances at future Thursday evening sessions at this library contact Cathy Swanson at: cswanson@mail.win.org.
